The Handphone, the bane of mankind, enemy of my soul, that deep pain up my ass.
It was not always like that, she was once a good friend of mine
We shared many a late night together, oh how fun, what memories
Our relationship so intimate, I could hardly bare to say goodnight to her each day end
But now it is no more, kapuut, boh liao, gone, finis,
she has become a curse I tell you, a curse!, God have mercy on my soul
Whats the deal with handphones man, they were meant to be a tool of convenience
A tool to communicate with your loved ones and friends, not a ropeless leash
but that's what exactly they have become today, you have no place to run I tell you,
one ring and you are virtually back at your tiny little cubicle in your office ( and its like 9 pm and I'm watching TV)
what else can make you remember that long, tiring, fucked up day at work but another friendly call by your boss reminding you of the shitloads to be done the next day.
Of course you can don't answer your phone plain and simple, right? NO!
Its criminal, a mortal sin!, how can you not pick up a call on your handphone, you bad ass!
you ought to be in jail for that, crucify him I tell you!!!
How can you not answer a call from your beloved boss wanting to give you more stuff to worry about at 10 pm at night, you can't ! Its not polite ! (according to him la)
Remember the time when before meeting a friend out for lunch, you had to arrange for a time place and everything, make sure you were on time and not leave the designated meeting point till your friend arrived?
Made sure you were not late so your friend wouldn't end up thinking you weren't coming?
well all that is dead now, a simple call or msg will do these days, "Where you?" "meet me so and so"
Everything has become so casual so commonplace, nothing is golden this days.
remember the days when someone use a phone in the MRT or the bus and everyone gives this fella that 'buay song' look, cursing him in our minds, willing him to shut up, shocked and angered at his rudeness for destroying the 'peace'
well it seems that we have all become that fella whom all those insults were directed against,
