Walking On Air - Airwalk

Life of a guy in Singapore

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

Man I think I am not cut out for the office life.
I just can't see myself working in a cubicle for the rest of my life.
Why?
Firstly being in aircon the whole day gives me pimples, damn of course I am still handsome lah, but who wants to have pimples.
Secondly my physique is like kapuut, of course I am still built like a Greek god but man when you have been perfect for so long, little changes hurt.
thirdly I keep making stupid mistakes with my work, seriously I don't like all this whole chain of command thing, want to do anything must check with your boss. Then when you take initiative it either goes unappreciated or you mess up something.
Fourth on the list is the thing about abbreviations, Man! Every fucking thing has a fucking abbreviation, I am like fuck can't you just spell the fucking thing out, it creates so much less confusion this way. I don't know is it just Singapore but abbreviations from what I know are meant to be short forms of terms that make it easier for people to relate to. I mean if you have a abbreviation like MRT its ok, cause basically everyone knows it and so uses it, but you don't go making short forms for every little fuck shit, how am I suppose to know what cssp, caabe, c2sop means. They should only be used for terms that many people know about, you can't go around having a document full of short forms and having a person with little or no background reading it and then expecting him to understand.
Fifth, I just feel working in an office is just going to kill you in the long run, no sun, no exercise, just sit and type and stare into the screen. Eyesight goes down, fitness goes down, eat the same oily food everyday. Man its like recipe for heart attack.

No whole office bureaucracy just reeks of unhealthiness, unhappiness and just plainly being meaningless. You are just like a mindless drone doing work for something you ultimately really care nothing for.

Man I am so going to become a zookeeper when I grow up.
