Life of a guy in Singapore

I seem to have lost some of my initial interest and flair for blogging.
Firstly because i am not around most of the time and basicaly cannot blog. Secondly i am not sure if there are people still reading this thing.
My tagboard is gone, and i am basically too shagged to write anything most of the time.
Its been a great fun blogging but i think i may call it a day soon.
Watch this space...maybe i will revamp this blog and spice it up or just give up on the whole thing

Hmm ok i am back again.
Only one day rest field camp is on Saturday, going to be tough got to be mentally prepared.
This week has been rather interesting, fun even. Got to fire a gun! or rather a rifle.
Feeling was quite shiok, of course i was nervous the first time, especially when i was holding the magazines with life rounds.
I mean those things could kill someone!, but after the initial shot the nervousness goes away and you are just concentrating on hitting the targets.
Did not do too badly i guess, could have done better on the night shoot though, think my rifle wasn't aligned properly.
Range was fun, the shooting part that is. We had to wait like 3 hours to fire for like 10 minutes, it was terrible. We reached back company line at 3 am on the first day and had to wake up at 6, feeling rather shagged now but i can't waste my book out.....

One thing about being at Tekong is that there is a little light out in the field. So we had a clear view of all the constellations. While waiting for my turn i gazed up occasionally making sure the sergents did not notice me to admire the starlit sky. Seldom can we see such a sight on the mainland as there is just too much light around. Poor are we then to be soo caugth up in our technology that we miss what is truly wonderful and beautiful.

Yeh i am back again, this past week has been quite eventful i guess.
Could not really give my 100% though, was suffering with a bad cough. The cough seems to be spreading around, practically everyone is coughing and some with high fever. Good thing we did not have much physical exercises, mostly IMT shooting.
Getting a little sick of army though, yeh its interesting to learn all these new stuff but to think that i am training for two years in a skill that i will most probably not be using just seems to be a total waste of time. Trust me staying in camp for week after week gets monotonous after a while. At least next week there will be range shooting so guess i will be occupied. Just hope i get rid of this cough fast.
Field camp will begin next saturday followed by SIT test, only three more weeks. Hope it will past by in a flash and i will get my 6 day break during chinese new year. Yeh really looking forward to that break.

Well its about three now have about five more hours before i book in, going of to rest, see you guys next time.

Man, its been a long time since I last blogged.
Well can't really help it with this army stuff, and my computer conked out on my last book out. Well its back to working order now.
Its been fun this last week except for the fact that I booked out just two hours ago and must be back tomorrow night.
Done and passed my TH test now looking forward to my range shooting. Should be fun, supposed to be really tiring though.
Then there was this eerie experience I had in camp, could not sleep one night and at about 2 am there was this marching sound, then my bunk door just slammed shut.
Man, almost peed in my pants, I woke my friend up after that, after we went to the toilet the sound stopped though.
Heard that this was common in my particular company, even so it was quite frightening.
Not only me but a couple of my bunk mates too hate similar if not more harrowing experiences. It was quite thrilling though I must admit.

My training schedule till Chinese new year is really packed, most of my weekends are all taken up, Damn!, but what to do? So don't expect too much from my blog.
It can get quite depressing at camp sometimes especially when you have your handphone but no one to call or message. The secret however to have a relatively good time in camp is to basically pamper yourself. Bring books, powder, the essential stuff, and just keep looking forward to your next meal. Time seems to pass a lot faster that way.

Good thing my platoon mates are quite a fun bunch except for some exceptions here and there. Thing is you just need to accept everyone for who they are, you can't afford not working well with some one you see everyday.

Army is also quite a good thing, for one it I feel for one has brought me closer to God, I am actually for the first time in my life reading the Bible on my own accord in camp. So I guess its not too bad.........
